SUMMER CAMP 2024

We're already planning for summer and we can't wait to see your children in 2024!

SportsPlus Summer Camp offers kids a summer playing the sports they love! Every week of camp includes flag football, soccer, basketball, baseball, kickball and other fun camp activities! Improving skills is the focus, but all camp activities are designed with fun in mind!

Our camp counselors are athletes themselves and reinforce the importance of sportsmanship and being a good teammate throughout the week.

Skill development, drills, and scrimmages are a part of each week. Campers are encouraged to participate in every sport and try their best. With exciting games and drills, we aim to keep campers active, energized, and engaged throughout the day!

ADDITIONAL CAMP DETAILS

PARENT COMMUNICATION

At SportsPlus, we strive to communicate effectively about our programs. We use the Band App for communication with parents throughout the day. For urgent matters, parents will receive a phone call from one of our counselors.

More details on joining and using our Band page will be sent in your Welcome Email.

LUNCH & SNACKS

Our campers are active and they get very hungry! Campers should pack a lunch and a larger snack to bring to camp. We provide additional snacks throughout the day.

SUN EXPOSURE

Typically, the sun is blazing by 10am during our Florida summers. When this happens, we move to various indoor locations across campus. Our counselors will always avoid playing outdoors during peak sun hours, but if your child has especially fair skin, you may choose to apply sunscreen in the morning before drop off.

Tips to avoid heat related illness:

  • Electrolytes in the morning will help you stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • Campers should remember to eat breakfast before coming to camp to avoid exhaustion first thing in the morning.

PICK UP POLICY

Campers will be signed in and out each day. Anyone planning to pick up your child that is not listed on your child’s registration will require written notice via email or Band App to a camp Director.

  • Drop off time is between 7:30-8:00am
  • Pick up time is between 5:00-5:30pm

Late drop offs and early pick ups should be communicated to a camp Director via the Band App. This is very similar to sending a text message through the app.

We do our best to accommodate all early pick ups in a timely manner, no matter where we are on campus. That said, we do not offer pick ups between 4pm and 5pm. We’re committed to providing fun and engaging programming for campers the whole day and the number of pickups during this hour becomes too much of an interruption.

Parents will be asked to present a photo ID at the time of pick up until our staff becomes familiar.

WHAT TO WEAR

Dress appropriately for the outdoors, play, and weather. Campers are welcome to bring baseball caps and/or sunglasses if they’d like. Shoes should be appropriate for athletics and must always be closed toe. It is not recommended that you bring cleats.

We know kids like Crocs, but they are not the safest option for your child because they don’t provide the traction needed for sports and athletics. And because we know they’ll ask, not even in sports mode.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Water bottle (to be refilled throughout the day)
  • Lunch
  • Snack

We provide any athletic gear needed for the sport of the day.

SportsPlus and our camp staff are not responsible for any lost toys, cell phones, trading cards, stuffed animals, money, etc. Cell phones may be used if needed to contact a parent, but they are not permitted for other purposes, such as searching the internet and social media.

WHEN TO STAY HOME

Please do not send your child to camp with any of the following symtoms:

  • Sore throat
  • Excessive coughing
  • Diarrhea or vomiting
  • Fever
  • Head lice
  • Undiagnosed rash, sore, or skin condition
  • Any other contagious disease or symptom

INCLEMENT WEATHER

We follow OCPS guidelines regarding lightning and outdoor safety. If there is lightning in the area at pick up time, then parents must walk all the way inside the Oasis building to sign out their camper.

MEDICINE PROCEDURES

Please do not pack medications with your child’s belongings. Parents must bring any necessary medications to a Director when dropping off. Medications must be in their original containers with written instructions for dispensing.

REFUND POLICY

  • Refund requests received seven days prior to the session start date will be honored in full minus the $25 nonrefundable registration fee.
  • Refunds must be requested via email to team@sportsplusathletics.com.
  • No refunds will be provided on or after the session start date.
